Chinook Landing Marine Park is a 67-acre marine park with six boat launching lanes on the Columbia River. It is one of the largest public boating facilities in Oregon. The park offers picnic and viewing areas, wetland and wildlife habitat, disabled-accessible docks, restrooms and a seasonal river patrol station. Bring your annual pass for admission to the marine park or pay $5 per vehicle.

Larch Mountain

Larch Mountain

Larch Mountain is located in East Multnomah County of Oregon, west of Portland, above the Columbia River Gorge. Although it has an elevation of 4,061 feet its prominence above the surrounding terrain is only 975 feet. The summit of the mountain is accessible by Larch Mountain Road between May and November. Hiking, biking, and exploring are all in abundance on Larch Mountain.

Gresham Historical Museum

The Gresham Historical Society was founded in 1976 by a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving and maintaining the historic Carnegie Library Building for research, collection, preservation, protection, and public display of artifacts, pictures, and documents relevant to the history of the area. Built in 1913 in Historical Downtown Gresham, with a grant from Andrew Carnegie, the building served as Gresham’s public library for over seventy years. Renovations in 2012 restored the old library to its original appearance, and it looks today much as it did a century ago.

Scenic State Park | Crown Point

Scenic State Park

Millions of visitors driving from Portland, through East Multnomah and to the Columbia River Gorge don’t realize the full impact of its beauty until they come around the bend near Corbett at exit 22 and see the famous building on the top of the cliff to the right. This is Crown Point and the building is the Vista House. The Vista House was built in 1916 at the same time as the Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway. The building was designed to be a place of refreshment and enjoyment of the Columbia Gorge. The octagonal building with its green ceramic tile roof houses a museum, gift shop, and interpretive display of historic and geologic points of interest in the Gorge.

Harlow House | Troutdale OR

Troutdale Historical Society Museum

Harlow House was built in 1900 on what was known as the ”Harlow Farm” by Fred E. Harlow, son of Capt. John Harlow, Troutdale’s founder. Originally a sea captain from Maine, Capt. Harlow was a Portland businessman who came to the Sandy River to establish a country farm. He named his place Troutdale because of the fish ponds he built near the cliff. When the railroad was built from Portland through the Columbia River Gorge in 1882 he convinced them to establish a depot, which took the name of the farm. Thousands of artifacts fill the many rooms of the Zimmerman House. Operated by East County Historical Organization, this is a delightful, turn-of-the-century farmhouse, situated in Gresham, OR. The farmis located on 5.98 acres, and the historic Zimmerman House sits on 1.58 acres of this historical property.
